5 from 9 reviews

This simple and flavorful recipe for Roasted Air Fryer Garlic Bulbs makes for a perfect savory addition to many dishes. Roasting garlic in the air fryer brings out its natural sweetness and softens its texture, making it easy to spread or incorporate into recipes. The process is quick, uses minimal ingredients, and yields tender, caramelized garlic cloves with a rich, mellow flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic

  • 4 Large Garlic Bulbs

Other Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper (optional, to taste)
  • Minced Fresh Parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the garlic bulbs: Slice off the top of each garlic bulb to expose the individual cloves inside. This allows the oil and heat to penetrate and roast the garlic evenly.
  2. Wrap the garlic in foil: Place each garlic bulb on a square piece of tin foil. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the top of each bulb. Season with salt and pepper if desired to add extra flavor. Wrap the bulbs tightly in the foil.
  3. Air fry the garlic: Arrange the wrapped garlic bulbs in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 400°F (204°C) and cook for 15 minutes. The garlic will become soft, fragrant, and golden brown.
  4. Finish and serve: Carefully remove the garlic bulbs from the foil once cool enough to handle. Gently squeeze the roasted garlic cloves out into a sealable container. Optionally, sprinkle with freshly minced parsley for a bright herbal note. Use the roasted garlic as a spread, ingredient, or flavor enhancer in your favorite dishes.

Notes

  • Be cautious when handling hot foil packets to avoid burns.
  • Roasted garlic can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Adjust cooking time slightly if garlic bulbs are significantly larger or smaller than average.
  • Use the roasted garlic as a delicious spread on bread, mixed into sauces, soups, or mashed vegetables.
  • For a richer flavor, you can roast the garlic bulbs for an additional 3-5 minutes if your air fryer allows without burning.
