Ingredients

Scale

Fries

  • 22 ounces waffle fries

Cheese

  • 8 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 6 ounces crumbled Feta cheese (divided into 4 ounces and 2 ounces)

Lemon Herb Sauce

  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Waffle Fries: Cook the waffle fries according to your preferred method such as baking, air frying, or deep frying until they are crispy and golden brown.
  2. Make the Lemon Herb Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the extra virgin olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic powder, dried oregano, dried parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Set aside, and refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes or overnight to allow the flavors to fully develop.
  3. Preheat Broiler: Turn on your oven broiler to low and position the oven rack in the center of the oven to prepare for melting the cheese.
  4. Assemble Fries with Cheese: Spread the cooked waffle fries evenly in a single layer on an unlined baking sheet. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the fries, then add 4 ounces of the crumbled feta cheese on top.
  5. Broil the Fries: Place the baking sheet under the broiler and cook until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly browned. This should take about 5 minutes, but watch closely to avoid burning.
  6. Add Sauce and Final Cheese: Remove the fries from the oven and immediately drizzle the lemon herb sauce over the top. Then sprinkle the remaining 2 ounces of feta cheese over the fries for an extra burst of flavor.
  7. Serve: Serve the Greek Lemon Feta Fries while piping hot for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Refrigerate the lemon herb sauce for at least 30 minutes or overnight to enhance its flavor.
  • Keep a close eye on the fries under the broiler to prevent the cheese from burning.
  • You can cook waffle fries using any preferred method: bake, air fry, or deep fry depending on your texture preference.
  • For a spicier kick, adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to taste.
  • Serve immediately for best texture and flavor as fries can become soggy if left to sit.
