Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lb ground chuck
  • 3 Tbsp sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp ranch dressing mix
  • ⅓ cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

For Serving

  • Hamburger buns
  • Lettuce (as desired)
  • Tomato slices (as desired)
  • Mustard (to taste)
  • Mayo (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix gently with your hands or a sturdy spoon just until all ingredients are evenly distributed. Avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.
  2. Form Patties: Shape the mixture into 6 equal-sized hamburger patties. Make sure each patty has the same thickness for even cooking. Press a small dimple into the center of each patty to prevent puffing during grilling. Wet your hands with cold water beforehand to prevent sticking.
  3. Grill Patties: Preheat your grill, grill pan, or skillet to medium heat. Cook the patties carefully, flipping once, until they reach your desired doneness: 130-135°F for medium rare, 140-145°F for medium, or 160°F for well done. Avoid pressing down on the patties to retain their juiciness. Let them rest for a few minutes after cooking.
  4. Serve: Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun and topping with lettuce, tomato, mustard, and mayo. Customize with additional toppings such as pickles, onions, or avocado if you like.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the meat mixture to avoid tough burgers.
  • Wet your hands when forming patties to prevent sticking.
  • Press a dimple in each patty’s center to avoid puffing while cooking.
  • Preheat grill or pan for even cooking.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper doneness.
  • Let cooked burgers rest to redistribute juices.
